Dimmit Municiple Airport: Dimmitt has a municiple airport (5,500 ft. runway) – Enterprise Zone, homer rule government, volunteer fire department and an average annual temperature of 57.5 degrees.

Castro County News: The Castro County News is featured weekly on Thursday on KDHN Radio 1470.

Plains Memorial Hospital: Plains Memorial Hospital / Castro County Hospital District is a 25 bed facility and is the medical center of Dimmitt, It features home health and hospice services, rehabilitation therapies, emergency medical services and consulting specialists, radiology (in house CAT scan)and durable medical equipment.

Dimmitt Nursing & Rehabilitation, L.P.: Dimmitt Nursing & Rehabilitation, L.P. Is a licensed nursing home facility with a 114 bed capacity.

Castro County Museum: Dimmit is know for it's colorful cowboys and western heritage. Visit the Castro County Museum for more history and information about Dimmitt's past. There is no admission charge but donations are accepted. By appointment only.

The Ozark Trail Obelisk: The Ozark Trail Obelisk is located at the intersection of highways 86 and 385 and was constructed in te 1920's for $600. Marking the distance to other towns and trade centers along the Ozark Trail, it originally stood in the center of the intersection but was moved to its present location by a colorful pioneer settler, Mr. Edwin “Goose” Ramey. Distance in miles to Amarillo (63), Lubbock (80), Albuquerque (275), Oklahoma City (325), Ft. Worth (396), Dallas (438), Denver (463) and Austin (476) are featured at this landmark.

Dimmitt is CAT Country! Dimmitt's 1,101 students are educated in three modern facilities: Richardson Elementary (708 W. Stinson St.), Dimmitt Middle School (805 W. Jones St.) and Dimmitt High School (1505 Western Circle). Gifted and talented, bi-lingual and ESL programs are available. Educational facilities within commuting distance include West Texas A&M University (Canyon), Texas Tech (Lubbock), South Plains College (Levelland), Wayland (Plainview), Amarillo College (Amarillo) and Eastern New Mexico University (Portales).
