Castro County Hospital District: CCHD is a 25 bed facility and is the medical center of Dimmitt, It features rehabilitation therapies, emergency medical services and consulting specialists, and radiology (in house CAT scan).

L.P. Is a licensed nursing home facility with a 114 bed capacity. Visit the Castro County Museum for more history and information about Dimmitt's past. There is no admission charge but donations are accepted. By appointment only.
The Ozark Trail Obelisk: The Ozark Trail Obelisk is located at the intersection of highways 86 and 385 and was constructed in the 1920's for $600. Marking the distance to other towns and trade centers along the Ozark Trail, it originally stood in the center of the intersection but was moved to its present location by a colorful pioneer settler, Mr. Edwin “Goose” Ramey. Distance in miles to Amarillo (63), Lubbock (80), Albuquerque (275), Oklahoma City (325), Ft. Worth (396), Dallas (438), Denver (463) and Austin (476) are featured at this landmark.

Dimmitt is CAT Country! Dimmitt's 1,101 students are educated in three modern facilities: Richardson Elementary (708 W. Stinson St.), Dimmitt Middle School (805 W.
